In March of 2008 the Indigenous Affairs direction to the year 2018 was approved by the Trust Directors who supported the preparation of a comprehensive business plan to help guide balanced cultural and eco-tourism development, land use and resource management to enhance the Trust’s long term social, economic and cultural values.

There is no centralised line of management for indigenous tourism within New Zealand and therefore as a consequence, the Indigenous Affairs Charitable Trust was created to full that gap in the tourism industry of New Zealand, and to secure partnerships and involvement, by and with our Asia Pacific Rim tourism and education partners.

Annually the Business Plan is appraised as part of the process. The significance of this exercise is to ensure that the vision and aspirations of the organisation remains relevant and sustainable given available resources, operating environment, and external factors affecting the business and its client sector. And to ensure all of our clients and colleagues receive quality service and equal opportunities.
