Mrs. Sharon Wallace
A Director of the Trust has a long history of hospitality training within New Zealand raising the awareness for Māori youth training into the hotels, restaurant, café’s and baristas trade. Sharon has catered events at many conferences and has engaged her students within these events and conferences. Sharon is the Chair person of the Marae Catering Whakaruruhau (Advisory) with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and trains senior students at a major Polytechnic in the country. First Maori Representative Board Director Hospitality Standards Institute (Industry Training Organisation, and Committee member of the Food & Beverage Sector within the Hospitality Standards Institute (Industry Training Organisation). President of the Rotorua Branch for the Restaurant Association of New Zealand
Mr. Howard Kao
A Director of the Trust has been in the travel and tourism industry in New Zealand for over 15 years. The respective tourism disciplines has seen Howard actively engaged in consultancy and negotiations with Asian and Māori tourism partnerships, Airlines and tour Companies. And an investment consultant and Contractor to Ngati Tuwharetoa in Taupo where he secured large contracts of international development with New Zealand that raised the value of Taiwanese and Chinese relationships with Māori. Howard has also setup business education programmes with Private Training Establishment (PTE’s) as well as tourism business companies and partnerships with regional tourism organisations.
